The Center for Conscious Living is an independent New Thought spiritual community. We are an energetic and alive group of people who gather to express their love in community and celebrate their connection to Spirit. CCL is a non-denominational, independent religious organization sharing the belief that spiritual principles can enhance and alter human experience, and that a consciousness of Spirit enhances all aspects of life.
Based on the Science of Mind, a spiritual philosophy developed by Dr. Ernest Holmes, the Center emphasizes lifting and expanding conscious-ness in ways that lead to a life of full expression, connection, peace and harmony. The Center’s educational mission is the development of faith and trust in God.
Its vision is to equip people with the tools to live a life of wholeness and spiritual connection. In addition to Sunday Celebration and Meditation Sunday, the Center offers: classes, workshops, an extensive library and book store, outreach services and the Synergy Circle (a forum for invited speakers, performers and people who inspire and transform lives). The Center for Conscious Living is a vital, alive, enriching place to express God’s Light and Love.

Dearest CCL Congregational family,
We have shared an amazing journey since Reverend Carol's retirement announcement.
And, I say, shared for several reasons.
You, as the CCL Congregation, have participated in this journey hand in hand with the Selection Committee. We are so grateful for the time and energy you have invested in your engagement in this process as it has unfolded over the past year as follows:
Based on the CCL By-laws, the Congregation was represented on the Selection Committee equal to the number of Stewardship Council members. This was done to ensure that the voice of the Congregation was heard in balance with the voice of the Leadership. We owe a great debt of gratitude to this group of people who served so well in a process that was more demanding than anticipated.
The Congregational representatives: Anne Blanchard, June Hament, Reverend Sue Locke and Mike Savarese played an important role in developing a process to appoint Interim Ministers and for recommending, to Stewardship Council, Senior Minister replacement consideration.
The Selection committee then began the interview process with Reverend Katherine McClelland and eventually that branched out to include another applicant.
In adherence to the previously agreed upon interviewing/ hiring process, when an applicant passed through the first round (2 initial interviews) of the process, the applicant was invited to give a sermon. Reverend Katherine was the only applicant to pass through the first round and take the next step in the process.
You, the Congregation, were then invited to become individually involved by responding to specific survey questions, and with comments, addressing your impressions of Reverend Katherine after she served as Speaker at the Sunday service.

Reverend Katherine was affectionately nick-named “The Minister of Love,” by her congregants.
In the midst of her ministry in 2006, together with the board and in preparation to affiliate with Agape International Spiritual Center with Reverend Michael Beckwith; the Symphony of Life Spiritual Center became a Universal Spirituality Center (based in Religious Science) in the model of Agape and affiliated with AGNT. Reverend Katherine continued to take adjunct classes at Agape throughout her ministry. During this time, she continued to teach SOM classes and used all the Principles and Teachings of SOM. Reverend Katherine currently resides in Ojai, California. She is initially serving provisionally (through August) as CCL's Senior Minister and Spiritual Leader. During this time Reverend Katherine is living and working in both New Jersey and California. She welcomes all to the Center for Conscious Living as she shares from her ministry of Love and inclusive consciousness of the Oneness and Divinity of All.
