CCL Animal Ministry

As part of the Animal Ministry at CCL we have an Animal Chaplain, our own Regina DeBarberie, RScP. As an Animal Chaplain, Regina supports all sentient beings, regardless of their species, and their companion people. She provides adoption support, welcoming/blessing rituals, help with the grief and loss from being present at the passing of a pet or the decision to put an animal down, to memorial services, to grief counseling.

As part of the Animal Ministry, Regina will be collecting items that have been requested by the Burlington County Animal Shelter. She will collect these items at our 4th Sunday Service of the month. A wish list of items can be found below.

If you have any questions or need the services of our Animal Chaplain, please contact the office.

Love Orphanage

Our own Ahaji Schreffler, RScP is the US Liaison to Love Orphanage. She met Gabriel during her first volunteer trip to Haiti in December 2011. Briefly mentioning Love Orphanage, she was intrigued and inspired. She was touched by the impact of one person’s sacrifice and dedication in changing the children’s lives. Unlike orphanages that receive sponsorship from international missionary groups, Love Orphanage had little assistance. She travels to Haiti twice per year to spend time with the children and transport needed donations, as well as regular fundraising campaigns to help support Love Orphanage’s mission.

CCL HEALING HEARTS STEERING COMMITTEE

The Healing Hearts Committee is made up of volunteers from our community who have indicated that they would like to help people within our community whenever they can with whatever is needed.

Since its inception, members of the Healing Hearts Committee have provided support by repairing things, moving things, providing transportation, companionship to appointments, keep in touch phone calls and inspirational cards, to name a few of our activities.

When a request comes into the CCL office, the coordinator for the Healing Hearts Committee sends a “blind copied” email to the Healing Hearts Volunteers. The email does not disclose any personal information about the person making the request unless the person asks to be listed in the request. Most emails only have general information such as date, time, activity, and geographic location in an effort to maintain confidentiality for the person making the request.

If a volunteer is attracted to helping, they contact the coordinator and are provided with additional information before deciding whether or not to commit to helping with the request. The volunteer is not obligated to commit to the activity unless it speaks to them and they want to help.

The Healing Hearts Committee’s goal is to help with whatever is needed to the extent that our resources can support.

We invite you be a part of the committee if this kind of volunteer opportunity speaks to you.

For those that may have a need: You never know if anyone is interested in helping unless you ask.

Please reach out to CCL office to let us know: if you want to be a part of this committee OR if you need support from members of our community.

Love, the Healing Hearts Steering Committee.
